Feb. 3, 2017: Friday

The short, short week has come to an end. It was great to see all the students happy to be back learning.

We began the morning by reviewing Frindle and beginning the next chapter. The students also continued writing their Chinese New Year essay.

In Math, the students put their knowledge to the test in a quiz on division.

Giving ways to reduce, reuse, and recycle so we can conserve our natural resources was on the agenda for Science.

New Spelling Words:
lettuce, conserve, boomerang, reduce, danger, reuse, peanut, recycle, before, humus, poetry, funniest, borrow, pollution, bigger, brother

HOMEWORK:
1) Language Arts - Chinese New Year writing - please complete 3 paragraphs (introduction, body, conclusion). This is your first draft, so they don't have to be in order. Please double space, and check your work for spelling and grammar mistakes.
2) Science - 3 R's hunt. Find out 3 ways someone in your family is reducing, reusing, or recycling.
3) Reading Log - your reading log is back to normal for grading (25% for each day, for a maximum of 4 days in a week).

NOTICES:
- Frindle quiz on Tuesday
- Social Studies quiz on Thursday
- Spelling test on Friday

Have a splendid weekend!
