Dec. 9, 2016: Friday

The students had a wonderful week wrapping up units in the homeroom, and writing exams. I think their brains deserve a bit of a break before studying for the last of the final exams next week.

This morning we started with a spelling test, followed by practice for the Christmas performance.

Before lunch we had Math, and we reviewed for the Language Arts final exam, and also the Math final exam.

After lunch we had Science and we had two groups give their presentations on their ecosystems. I'm very impressed with both their final products and presentations. One more group will present on Monday, and I will post all the pictures then, too.

HOMEWORK:
1) please note - this homework is only optional, so students do not have to complete it if they don't want to. However, I will be giving Dojo points for every task completed. Students have a Think Tac Toe sheet that covers material from each final exam next week. There are some good study questions on it, so I recommend at least reading through the questions and thinking about the answers. If you choose to write the answers, please do so in your Social Studies notebook.
2) Reading Logs will not be counted as a grade next week, but I still highly recommend you continue your routine of reading.

NOTICES:
- Tuesday final exams - Language Arts and Math
- Wednesday final exams - Social Studies and Reading
- both Tuesday and Wednesday are half days and the students will be ready for pickup at 11:45am
- Thursday will be our class Pizza Party as well as a gift exchange. Please bring a wrapped gift that fits in the price range of $300-$500.
- Friday is the Christmas performance in the morning, followed by Christmas Holidays

Next week will be a fun week, and I know students will be getting excited about many things, but keep in mind that we need to focus on our final exams first. I hope you have a good weekend reviewing for the exams, but be sure to give your brain some time to relax and have some fun as well.

Have a great weekend everybody!

Mr. Y
