This morning we had assembly and then Reading and Phonics. We defined some new vocabulary words and began the story, "A Fine, Fine School."
In Math, we identified the place value of numbers to 9,999.
For Social Studies, we described regions and people in communities. We discussed how people are diverse around the world.
In Science, the students got to look at some different tools used to make observations.
In ECA, we will try to have a weekly appointment with the Kinder 2 class and be their reading buddies. Today went very well and our students did a wonderful job assisting the little ones with their reading. Great job!

NOTICES:
- the Parent/Teacher meeting will be this Saturday, August 20. Parents can arrive and meet in the gym between 8:45am-9:00am.

- Math quiz on Chapter 1 also on Friday
- another friendly reminder to please hand in the lunch money, as well as the tissue needed for classroom use. I am requesting one big pack of tissues, please, and it should last us for the rest of the year. Thank you.
