Apr. 17, 2016: Monday

Happy Easter!  It was a lovely week to enjoy with your friends and family. Now, back to work and on the home stretch to the end of the year (only 5 weeks of classes until final exams).

Assembly was first on the agenda today, followed by Reading and Phonics. We shared stories of the week off and it was great to hear so many students have such wonderful adventures. The students wrote a quiz on Young Thomas Edison in the remaining time after our discussion.

During Math, we measured the mass of an object in metric units (grams = g and kilograms = kg). We also reviewed for the quiz tomorrow.

In Social Studies, the students made more decisions based on value. There were some interesting debates and discussions that took place so they could make decisions.

Science class was all review for tomorrow's quiz.

In ECA, we took a look at all the models and began a plan for the displays. Great job on all your models, students. I really enjoyed your creativity.

We also had some really generous students share gifts from Thailand and France. Thank you so much for sharing.

HOMEWORK:
1) Math p. 101
2) Science p. 337-338
3) Reading Log - we are back to a normal week, so if you read 4 times during the week you will score 100% on the reading log for the week. This will be the norm for the rest of the year.

NOTICES:
- Quizzes tomorrow: Math and Science
- Spelling test on Friday
- Student Council is having a fund raiser this week. Students need $20NT to make a guess of how many snacks are in the jar.
- Easter Mass is Thursday morning

Have a good evening.

Mr. Y
