I am happy to see that many people read the blog yesterday. Thank you. Today's secret message is: purple pumpkins.
Today we practiced writing a good ending for a personal narrative, used scrabble letters to stretch or blend sounds, and made pronouns agree with verbs.
In Science, we began a research project on an animal life cycle. Students chose an animal, completed the necessary research, and drew its life cycle. Look at those students hard at work!
For ECA, the students were assigned a character for their part in the Student Showcase (Language Festival) that will occur on November 18. The students should be able to memorize their lines for the show.
HOMEWORK:
1) LA - Picture Dictionary - please choose 6 different spelling words to complete the activity
2) Reading - Write down 4 questions you thought of while reading for your Reading Log.
NOTICES:
- Social Studies this quarter - We are learning about government and we will be jumping around in the textbook in Unit 4 and 5, and the students will also have a booklet in class. I will be choosing, what I believe, the most important concepts to learn in the government unit. Therefore, there will be a lot of material in the textbook that we will not cover in Units 4 and 5.
- Spelling test on Friday - we are up to 14 words now, so please start reviewing them now
- we have Mass tomorrow morning, parents are always welcome to join
- please return your final exams (with corrections completed)
Have an awesome night!
Mr. Yaremchuk
