Oct. 24, 2016: Monday

Welcome back from a beautiful weekend, and I hope you all had a good one.

After Assembly this morning, we reviewed the vocabulary words from Max’s Words, finished reading the story, and also compared and contrasted the collections in the story.

In Math, we practiced subtracting greater numbers by completing an interactive notebook exercise.

For Social Studies, we recognized the purpose of, and need, for government. We read the story in our booklet, “Jenny and the Government Fairy” and discussed why the government is important.

We began a new lesson in Science – adaptations. This is my favorite topic to teach, and students usually love it as well. We defined adaptation, and discussed different adaptations animals have. The students also drew a new animal and shared what adaptation it has to help it survive.

The K2 students came for some reading time again in ECA. We have switched reading partners for this new quarter. Everyone read very well together. Great job!

HOMEWORK:
1)      Math p. 31
2)      Math story corrections
3)      Reading Logs

NOTICES:

-          Father Prudencio will be away this week. The students will remain in the homeroom during Christian Living and we will use that time for Halloween activities, practicing for the Student Showcase, or other tasks.
