Apr. 19, 2017: Wednesday

It's getting nice and hot out there and I think the summer is finally here. Much better than the snow that keeps falling at my parents' house in Canada. Brrrrrrrrrrrrr.

This morning in Language Arts/Reading class, the students explored their research project topic and planned out the main ideas. We then went to the computer room to research information on the topic.

The boys were having a good game of Knock-Out today at lunch time.

We spent the whole Science class making the display and working on questions in the invention convention booklet. The displays are starting to look pretty good.

The teachers had a PD meeting during ECA so the students were busy rehearsing for tomorrow's Easter mass.

Apr. 18, 2017: Tuesday

Good evening parents and students. It was another usual busy Tuesday in the Talented Third Grader classroom and computer room.

We began planning the Invention Convention display board to start the day, reviewed how to retell a story, and distinguish between a common and proper noun.

In Math and Science the students wrote a short quiz.

During Social Studies the students found the main idea and details in a passage. But before that we had the boys of Monkey Town and the girls of Dogsville have a discussion about what services they can trade and share so each community will have more needs and wants.

We went to the computer room in ECA to type up some sentences to put on the Invention Convention display board.

HOMEWORK:
1) Invention Convention - p. 10, 12-14
2) Reading Logs

NOTICES:
- Easter Mass on Thursday will begin at 8:30am. Following the mass, we will have different activities in the morning to celebrate Easter.

My friend is here from Canada to visit and she got the lovely pleasure of reading a storybook to the students and interacting with them. The students shared some lovely facts about Taiwan and they were very kind and welcoming.
