Math - worked on the Invention Convention - the students had a chance to research their invention and work in their booklets as well.

2) Reading Logs

Mar. 13, 2017: Monday

The nice hot weather today has got us all in the mood for final exam week #2.

Monday morning began with Assembly as usual, and then the students wrote the Reading and Phonics final exam.

In Math, Science, and Social Studies today, we reviewed, reviewed, and reviewed. We had different Math stations, group games, and discussions during these review times.

Students were looking for clocks around the classroom:

In Social, we spent a little extra time discussing how children show their culture in USA and the good things about diversity. Each small group had to present about a different child.

PLEASE REMEMBER: reading and understanding what the question is asking is very important. Let's try to keep the silly mistakes away and read the directions carefully, and I know you will all succeed.

HOMEWORK:
1) Think Tac Toe - again this is just optional, but there are good study questions, please look at it and complete it in your Reading notebooks if you want to earn some Dojo Points!

2) Reading Logs - you can enter your textbook as your book

NOTICES:
- Tomorrow and Wednesday are half days with students being dismissed at 11:45am.
- the Social Studies exam will be first tomorrow and then Language Arts after recess.
- Wednesday will be Science and Math.
- Please arrive on time for school as we will begin writing the exam right after prayers

Please bring back to school tomorrow your spelling tablet, any notebooks, workbooks, and text books for Reading, Language Arts and Social Studies. You can still keep your Science and Math.

Have a nice evening!

Mr. Yaremchuk

Well the students have completed two more final exams today, and have only tomorrow for specialty final exams. Please prepare for your PE, Health, and Computer exams that are tomorrow.

Mar. 8, 2017: Wednesday

Hello parents and students. Final Exams have begun and the children have completed the big Chinese test and an Art test.

Tomorrow's exams are Christian Living and Music.

This morning in LA/Reading the students used the vocabulary words from An Ancient Greek Myth and made sentences, wrote a diamente poem, and practiced using exact adjectives. We also reviewed test taking strategies.

In Science, we worked on the Invention Convention. Please note the change. I have opened up the topic for our Grade Three Inventors to find any problem and think of an invention for it. You can still use the environment, but it seems limited and difficult right now. Students can now invent anything they want, but it still needs to be a real thing.

HOMEWORK:
1) Science p. 320
2) Social Studies Passport - reminder to parents that students will need to use the computer for research
3) Reading Logs

NOTICES:
- spelling test on Friday, along with your PE, Health, and Computer final exams
- please keep thinking about a problem to solve for your invention convention - read the important change above in the Science paragraph above.

Have a good night.

Mr. Y
