This morning began with everybody sharing the same weekend plans - study. (hopefully you can get some sunshine and relaxing time in there). We then continued reading the Greek Myth and learned some new vocabulary.
In Math, we practiced telling time to the minute on the whiteboard, interactive notebook activity, and clock games.
After lunch was Science. We learned about the water cycle and explained the different parts. We had Sophie share some lovely crackers she got in Chiayi on the weekend while we watched a video on the water cycle.
Also in Science, we discussed the upcoming Invention Convention (end of April). We will be working on it weekly and piece by piece. See homework for more information below.
HOMEWORK:
1) Science - Invention Convention - please answer the question you wrote in your notebook. Also, think of 2-3 inventions you think could help the environment. Remember that your invention doesn't only have to be about pollution as it could relate to habitats, ecosystems, animals, etc. Identifying a problem is the first step in the Engineering Design Process.
2) Study for exams. Follow your study guides slowly and begin reviewing your material.
3) Reading Logs - when reading, you can practice reading with expression to prepare for your oral reading exam next week
NOTICES:
- final exams on Wednesday: Art and Chinese
- final exams on Thursday: Christian Living and Music
- each student will be doing his/her reading exam throughout the week
Have a great weekend, and don't forget to take a break from studying and enjoy the beautiful weather.
Mr. Y
