Sept. 2, 2016

I'm not sure about you all, but I think that week flew by super fast. Nonetheless, it was a busy week and the students were amazing little learners again.

Here's what we did today:

Language Arts - had a spelling test, identified nouns of the subject, and shared our weekend plans.

Math - viewed coins to understand the value of dollars, dimes, and pennies.

Science - the students presented the different parts of the design process. They then followed the steps to plan how to build a catapult. Students will work with a partner to design a plan, build, test, redesign, and evaluate their catapult. Construction begins on Monday.

NEW SPELLING WORDS:
- convinced, guilty, honest, dollar, quarter, design, engineer, solution, problem, Thursday, murmur, January

HOMEWORK:
1) Science p. 65 (and p. 67 if you didn't complete it in class today)
2) Social Studies p. 41 (complete corrections from last day's homework as well)
3) Reading Logs - find some interesting words this weekend

NOTICES
- Social Studies quiz on Monday
- English quiz on Tuesday - Unit 1 - The Sentence
- please bring your library books on Monday

I hope the rain doesn't keep you away from doing your fun activities this weekend. Have a good one!

Mr. Y
